It is easy to get keywords for your web contents but it is not easy to get the best keywords that can easily rank your website especially if it is still a new website. We call these keywords to use on new website low competition keywords. These keywords have low competition on the web and when researched, they can easily rank your website and bring organic traffic to your site.

These low competition keywords are very important for newly created blogging site or blogs to get their website ranked and when the website gains age and authority, they can then migrate to the high competition keywords that have good CPC (Cost Per Click).

You can have an idea on a blog post or article to write on but without the right keywords, your post wouldn't easily rank on search results and sometimes, the article might not be indexed by Google Search Console.

SEO brings what we call organic traffic to a website and is not direct traffic or paid traffic.

What is a Keyword?

A keyword or sometimes called focused keyword is a set of words used by SEO professionals that best describes the contents on your website or on a webpage with the hope that this website or webpage will be ranked on Google's top search results.

High competition keywords are keywords who's search volume is high, CPC high and is often used by old websites with high authority. However, these keywords are not advised to be used on newly launched website except if you intend doing advertisement of the website with these keywords. Most of the time these keywords are often short tail keywords because they are made of 1 - 4 keywords.

Let's say for example; we will want to write on what is seo. After analysis of this keyword, you will see the keywords difficulty, CPC and PPC. If after analysis the keywords difficulty 41 to 100%, then this keyword is of high competition and if you have launched a new site and used a keyword with such difficulty, then your site might hardly rank for search results.

2. Low Competition Keywords

Low Competition Keywords are keywords of who's search volume is sometimes high, CPC moderate and is often used by newly launched site who want to draw unpaid or organic traffic to their website. These keywords are often long-tail keyword which are composed of 5 to 10 words because they are composed of good and low competition words that can formulate a search term or query. These keywords are known of having a difficulty of 0 to 40%.

Lets say for example, we want to write on SEO. We will need to analyze they keyword in-order to get more alternatives with little difficulty since the keyword was analyzed earlier and had much difficulty.

What is Keyword Difficulty?

Keyword difficulty is the efficiency of a keyword to rank as search results for a search term or query. This keyword difficulty is usually used and expressed in percentages. It ranges from 0 -  100 and the higher the difficulty, the harder it will be to rank a website with the concerned keyword, the lower the keyword difficulty, the easier you can rank your website with the concerned keyword.   • 0 - 10 : No Competition
  • 11 -20 : Extremely Low Competition
  • 21 - 30 : Low Competition
  • 31 - 40 : Moderate Competition
  • 41 - 50 : High Competiton

  • 65 - 100 : Not to be considered to use.

We will be using a free keyword finder and analysis tool that will help us obtain many possible keywords from just a single search term. It also help find similar keywords that are related to the keyword in question and that can be equally use for writing articles.

  4. Select a keyword who's difficulty is of 0 - 30

When you search for something on the internet, Google shows you the best results containing rich keywords of the term you search for. Google will also show you what other people search for. If you are a webmaster and SEO professional, you will understand that this is a really important asset for your website.  Including some words from what people search for in your keyword will give a great boost to your website because if someone search for one keyword or the other, your website will still appear as search results.

Google has a recognition system that they took 5 years to develop and this keyword recognition system shows results of what every synonym of a keyword. If you search for a term and results are not available in that term, Google will show results with term that are similar to those that are research.

So when creating your keyword, consider adding some keywords on what people also search for to the results you got from the steps above with low competition.
