However, there's another working method which is using a US bank account as a middleman to transfer the funds (which can take considerably longer time for the transfer to complete).

How To Transfer Money From Chime to PayPal
If you are sending the funds using your Chime debit card or routing and account number, you'll be required to verify with two test deposits to confirm your details. However, using a linked bank account comes with a completely different approach.
Let's cover each method in detail.
Method 1: Use Your Chime Debit Card
Chime is one of the best online banks that offer instant debit cards to customers as soon as they open their bank accounts with the platform.
With that said, if you already have a Chime checking account, then you should have access to your Chime debit card that you can link to PayPal and use as a funding source for your PayPal transactions.
To link your Chime debit card to PayPal:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Click on the "Wallet" tab.
- Select "Link a debit or credit card" and enter Chime debit card details.
- Finally, tap "Link card."
For sure, you'll be linking the card to your PayPal balance and not transferring the funds to PayPal, but if you look at it the other way, you'll see that this method is way more convenient, as any funds you have on your Chime account should be made available on PayPal, which you can flexibly use for your transactions.
Method 2: Use Your Chime Routing And Account Number
Another great way to transfer money from Chime to PayPal is through your routing and account numbers.
Chime offers every customer a routing number and account number that can not only be used to set up direct deposits, but also to transfer funds from one account to the next.
The Chime account number is unique for every user, but the routing number remains the same in most cases, and it is always good to know how to find the routing number associated with your Chime account.
PayPal allows users to link their bank accounts manually through the routing and account numbers of their accounts, meaning you can link your Chime checking account to PayPal through this process.
To link your Chime checking account to PayPal:
- Log in to your PayPal account.
- Go to "Wallet."
- Click "Link a bank."
- Try searching for Chime, and if it doesn't show up, select "Link your bank another way."
- On the next page, you'll be required to provide your bank account details, including its routing and account number.
- Once you're sure everything is okay, click on the "Agree and Link" button.
This linking process can take 2 to 3 business days, so you should exercise patience if it takes more than a day.
After you have linked your Chime checking account to PayPal, you can now transfer money from Chime to PayPal as follows:
- Go to the "Wallet" section from your PayPal dashboard.
- Tap "Transfer Money."
- Tap "Add money to your balance."
- Select your bank and enter the amount you want to transfer.
- Finally, tap "Add."
After completing the aforementioned steps, the transfer should take 3 to 4 business days to go through and show up in your PayPal account.
Method 3: Use A Linked Bank Account
Using a linked bank account as a bridge is one of the best ways to transfer money from Chime to PayPal.
While this method might take longer to complete, it's the best way to proceed if the other methods above don't work out for you.
In this case, you'll need to make sure that your bank account is linked to both Chime and PayPal.
Chime makes linking an external bank account to your Chime account even easier through the following steps:
- Log in to your Chime app.
- Select "Move Money."
- Select "Transfers."
- When you are prompted, enter the login credentials for your other bank (your external account).
After linking your external bank account to Chime, you'll be able to transfer funds from Chime to your bank account, which takes 3 to 5 business days to complete.
Once the funds arrive in your bank account, then you may want to consider transferring the money from your bank account to PayPal, through the steps shown above, which roughly takes 3 to 4 business days.
How Long Does It Take To Transfer Money From Chime To PayPal?
The time it takes to transfer money from Chime to PayPal depends on the method you use.
For instance, if you use the Chime debit card method, then the transfer should be instant, and if you're using Chime's routing and account number, the transfer should take between 2 and 4 business days.
On the other hand, if you're using a linked bank account, then a complete transfer of funds from Chime to PayPal should take between 2 and 5 business days to go through.
How to Send Money from PayPal to Chime
Sending money from PayPal to Chime shouldn't be much of an issue for you if you did what was required in at least one of the aforementioned methods.
However, the best way I can recommend to send money from PayPal to Chime is by using an external bank account as a bridge, since both PayPal and Chime work with most US banks. You'll be sending money from PayPal to your bank, then adding the money to Chime from your bank.
The entire process can take up to 3 or 5 business days and I believe it is worth the wait.
