Cash App just dropped its new tag, the Cash App Mini Card, and it's something you'd definitely want to get for that teen at home.
With the Mini Card, you no longer need to share your Cash Card details with your kids since this one is perfectly designed for kids and gives you (the sponsor) complete control over the way teens spend.
In this guide, I'll show you how to order a Mini Card and explain what you can actually do with this new Cash App Tag.
What are Mini Cards?
Mini Cards are the new Cash App Tags, which automatically link to your Cash Card and let you tap to pay from your keychain without having to use your phone or Cash Card itself.
Since Mini Cards can be carried on your keychain, you won't even always notice that you're carrying along a financial accessory just next to your keys, which makes the whole experience even better.
Of course, they are mini as their name suggests and are designed for kids of 13+ years of age, and give sponsors full control over the spending through these mini cards.
How to Order a Cash App Mini Card
The Mini Card shouldn't pass unnoticed if you've been actively using Cash App for the past few days. There's a notice at the Cash Card button saying "Small but mighty". If you see this, then you can order a Mini Card.
To do so:
- Make sure your phone runs either iOS 5.56 or Android 5.54.
- Tap the "Small but mighty" on the Cash Card button to get directly to the Mini Card tag page.
- Scroll all the way to the bottom until you see "Order card or tag".
- Tap the green "New" button and follow the prompts to order your Mini Card.
Before you order, know that the Mini Card Tag is set at $25. So only order if you don't have any issue with paying for this card.
What Can I Do With the Cash App Mini Card?
The Mini Card comes with plenty of perks besides its tiny nature that easily gets attached to your keychain.
With the Mini Card:
- You get up to 10% off all restaurant purchases.
- Use it anywhere Visa payments are accepted.
- You can make instant payments anytime thanks to its built-in Near Field Communication (NFC).
- You do not need a battery, WiFi, or Bluetooth to make it work.
Why Can't I Order a Mini Card?
The Mini Cards are a limited edition of Cash App Tags, and as of now, they are only available for the first 10,000 users who find them earlier in their Cash App accounts. So if you can't order a Mini Card at this time, you'll have to wait for the next drop since this first drop has already sold out.
Final Thoughts
Cash App is definitely riding on another level with its Cash App Tags. The Mini Card, just as any other tag, comes with the convenience that every user would definitely love. If you don't mind paying the $25 for this convenience, you should definitely give this a shot. I haven't used it yet personally, but I think the convenience and features are worth the price.
