Your Cash App routing and account numbers are usually what link your account to other financial institutions, making this pair of numbers a must-know when using Cash App. They come in handy, especially when you want to set up direct deposit with your employer, start a benefits program, or even set up bill and automatic payments.

Luckily, Cash App makes it really easy to find these numbers tied to your account directly from the "Money" tab of the app.

How to Find Your Cash App Routing & Account Numbers

Usually, when you click through to the Money tab, you should see some figures just next to your Cash balance. Tapping on these figures should directly take you to a page where you'll see both your routing and account numbers.

However, these two numbers were mainly designed to set up direct deposits, and if you aren't aware yet, you definitely need to order a Cash App card before you can qualify for the direct deposit feature.

So, to get a Cash App card (you can skip these steps if you already have a Cash Card):

  1. Open Cash App on your phone.
  2. Tap the "Money" tab.
  3. Select "Get your free card" or "Design a new card".
  4. Tap "Continue".
  5. Follow the steps to order your card.

Once you've ordered your free card, you should already be able to see which direct deposit numbers have been assigned to your account.

To find your Cash App routing and account numbers:

  1. Open Cash App and tap the "Money" tab.
  2. Tap on your Cash balance to reveal account details.
  3. You should see your full account and routing numbers.

It should look similar to what's in the screenshot below.

Setting Up Direct Deposit With Your Routing & Account Numbers

As mentioned earlier, your routing and account numbers were mainly designed to set up direct deposit with your employer, and that's probably the reason you came looking to find these numbers.

Now that you know the numbers assigned to your account, you can provide them when prompted to provide a bank account during the direct deposit setup with your employer.

If you aren't familiar with setting up direct deposits, here's how to do it in the app:

  1. Open Cash App and go to the Money tab.
  2. Tap "Direct Deposit".
  3. Select "Create a pre-filled form".
  4. Fill out your employer information, the amount you would like to be deposited from each paycheck, and provide your signature.
  5. Confirm your email and complete the form.

All you'll have to do now is mail this form to your employer so they can start making your deposits.

Which Bank Issues the Routing Number Assigned to Your Account?

As you might already know, the routing number isn't unique like your account number, and while routing numbers can be the same for many customers, they aren't the same for everyone.

To know which bank issued the routing number you are using, you need to go to Cash App's banking partners, which are Sutton Bank, Wells Fargo, The Bancorp Bank, and Lincoln Savings Bank.

While Wells Fargo and The Bancorp Bank are focused on offering the banking features you see in the mobile app, Sutton Bank and Lincoln Savings Bank are the two banks behind the direct deposit feature.

Lincoln Savings Bank is Cash App's primary partner for direct deposit, and most customers who have set up direct deposit before should have the routing number 073923033. For sure, Sutton Bank handles the issuing of Cash Cards, but I've seen a few customers confirm they have the routing number 041215663, which is from Sutton Bank.

All you need to do now is identify which routing number you have and compare it with either of the two numbers I've mentioned above to know which bank issued the numbers you found in your account.

Final Thoughts

While Cash App is not primarily a bank, it partners with a few banks to offer routing and account numbers that you can use to set up direct deposits, bill pay, and start a benefits program.

Finding your routing and account numbers on Cash App is very easy, and all you'll have to do is go through the Money tab to see which numbers have been assigned to your account.

This guide compiles the steps to qualify for these numbers (getting a Cash Card) and to find your numbers so you can use them whenever the need arises.
