President Trump's executive order regarding the DEI framework at the beginning of the year 2025 was clear.
"Follow the federal government's lead and "end illegal DEI discrimination" or face civil rights investigations.
This alone has led to an increasing divide among companies supporting the framework, with an increasing number of them rolling back their support for the framework.
While this divide might have led many leading tech companies to roll back their support for DEI to cooperate with the executive order in place, there is still a good number of companies that publicly embrace DEI.
In this article, I'll be showing you an updated list of companies still offering support for DEI initiatives.
What is DEI?
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) is an organizational framework aimed at offering the underrepresented population the equality of rights and inclusion in activities that they are typically not able to participate in, especially when it comes to the workforce.
List of Companies That Support DEI
The divide between companies following the executive order against the DEI initiative is dramatically incredible, leaving only a few big names, alongside many others in the game.
The companies still offering DEI efforts include:
1. Apple
Apple is in strong support of the DEI framework, as the company and shareholders as a whole are actively fighting against the request to end the iPhone maker's diversity.
Their diversity within the company's workforce is really incredible, with Asians, Blacks, and Hispanic/Latin Americans accounting for 56% of the total workforce.
So, if we are to mention companies still in this fight, Apple definitely deserves a top spot.
2. Microsoft
Microsoft is definitely among the big names to have reaffirmed and maintained their continuous support for DEI initiatives out there.
In fact, Microsoft has publicly revealed that its efforts to support DEI have driven both creativity and competitive benefits to its company. So for them, it isn't just about supporting the framework, but more of a business approach.
3. Costco
We recently mentioned Costco when talking about grocery stores supporting DEI initiatives, and of course, it is one of the big names that has made its commitment to support the framework very clear.
Despite facing pressure from shareholders requesting that the company revoke support for DEI, Costco CEO, Ron Vachris, together with a few other business partners affiliated with Washington Employers for Racial Equity (WERE), have shown how dedicated they are to supporting "racial equity for Black Washingtonians".
4. Coca-Cola
Coca-Cola is one of the large brands out there that aims at promoting young and top talent in the world, regardless of their origin, and it ensures this through its firm support for DEI.
Remember the televised music series, Coke Studio Africa, launched in October 2013, featuring collaborations between local and international artists across various African genres—Afrobeats, Kwaito, Congolese rumba, etc? That was sponsored by Coca-Cola, and it is through its support for DEI that this series got its name.
So, just as many other companies on this list, offering support for DEI is more of a business approach for Coca-Cola.
5. Kroger
Kroger has made their support for DEI initiatives clear not only publicly through the press but equally through their DEI policies.
As part of their fight to maintain support for the program, they have made employment accessible to anyone throughout their locations in the country, making sure that all their members, workers, and associates have equal opportunities to learn and grow.
6. Ben & Jerry's
Ben & Jerry's has publicly affirmed its commitment to DEI efforts and has made it clear not to stop support for the framework, just as many others on this list.
7. Delta Airlines
Delta Airlines is an anti-racist company with a skill-first approach to talent that has reaffirmed its commitment to DEI initiatives, as it is core to its business strategy.
Their commitment to DEI is just crazy when it comes to workforce, as their skill-first approach lets them make an ultimate job decision while considering skills as equivalent to education, regardless of the applicant's origin.
8. NFL
NFL's commitment to DEI isn't just about a business approach, but about social impact. Blacks in general account for a huge number of fans and players in the NFL alike.
Not only that. DEI support also gives way to younger talents who dream of making a name in the NFL.
The league commissioner, Roger Goodell, understanding what's at stake, made a statement stating their continuous commitment to DEI.
Diversity and inclusion are fundamental to the NFL’s future. We will continue to build a league that represents the communities we serve.
So the NFL is definitely continuing the fight against anti-DEI.
9. TJX Companies
TJX has boldly reaffirmed its support for DEI as it helps them build a more inclusive and diverse workplace, and this applies to all of its subsidiary companies, including Marshalls, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, HomeSense, etc.
Anyone from any background is welcome to become a TJX associate, as this not only lets them open doors to diverse talents but also lets them maintain a steady business approach.
10. E.L.F Beauty
E.L.F Beauty's commitment to DEI is worth a mention, and if you take a deep look into this, you'll find out that E.L.F Beauty's commitment is one of the strongest since they cater to offer their products to an even wider population.
What way of showcasing their products other than with different skin tones? And this can only be possible by powering their workforce with employees from different races.
Talking of workforce, their figures have been absolutely crazy since September 2024, with Black, Asian, and Hispanic origins not only occupying employees' posts but positions at the board as well.
This is just to show that E.L.F Beauty's commitment to DEI is just as strong as you'll expect from other leading companies.
11. JPMorgan Chase
JPMorgan Chase is another company whose commitment to DEI efforts is really incredible over the years, despite the recent shift from DEI to DOI.
"The 'e' always meant equal opportunity to JPMorgan, not equal outcomes, and we believe this more accurately reflects our ongoing approach" said the company's Chief Operating Officer, Jennifer Piepszak, in a memo.
This shift from "equity" to "opportunity" doesn't change their approach to support the framework, and JPMorgan customers concerned by the framework will have equal opportunities as others.
More Companies Supporting DEI
The companies that support DEI don't limit themselves to the list above, but also extend to companies from different industries, including:
- Cisco
- Cleveland and Cavaliers
- Francesca's
- Levi Strauss & Co.
- Lush U.S.
- Marriott International
- Morgan Standly
- Patagonia
- Procter and Gamble
- Sephora
- Southwest Airlines
- Ulta
I believe that there's still a good number of companies supporting DEI out there that I haven't mentioned yet. I'll be adding them as soon as I fall on more.
List of Companies That Don't Support DEI
Unlike listing out companies that don't support DEI, mentioning those that have revoked their commitment to the framework is way more complicated, and the list becomes longer with companies trying to comply with the executive orders.
While Amazon, Target, and Walmart are among the bigger names that have rolled back their support for DEI, there's still a good number of companies who no longer support the framework, which include:
- Accenture
- Aldi's
- Amtrak
- Bank of America
- BlacRock
- Citigroup
- Disney
- Ford Motor Co.
- Gannett
- IBM
- Lowe's
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
- McDonald's
- Paramount
- PBS
- Pepsi
- Toyota
- Warner Bros. Discovery
This list isn't a complete one, and I'll try to update it to the best I can as soon as I discover a new company that revokes its support for the DEI framework.
Final Thoughts
While the DEI has been a very helpful framework over the years, President Trump's recent mandate has brought a massive divide among companies supporting the framework with many revoking their support for it.
This guide compiles most companies still supporting the program, just so you can know where you can receive support from the program.,
As time goes on, more and more companies might either strengthen their support for DEI or even revoke it, and as this happens, I'll definitely be updating this list.
